A Bucket List Experience in Apopka

Clear kayaking at Rock Springs is one of the most unique ways to experience Central Florida’s natural beauty. Launching from King’s Landing in Apopka, this guided adventure takes you onto Rock Springs Run and through the famous Emerald Cut, a narrow stretch of vibrant blue-green spring water surrounded by dense palms, oak trees, and lush Florida wilderness.

The experience takes place in 100% clear kayaks, giving you a window into the water beneath you as you paddle. In many areas, the spring is shallow enough to clearly see the sandy bottom, aquatic plants, fish, and other wildlife swimming below. Above the water, keep an eye out for turtles, river otters, birds, deer, and even the occasional alligator along the shoreline.

The first portion of the adventure takes you upstream against the current, winding beneath tree canopies and through some of the most scenic sections of Rock Springs Run. Guides stop along the way for photos, wildlife sightings, and opportunities to get out of the kayak and enjoy the spring water. Once you reach the turnaround point, the experience gets much more relaxing as you let the natural current carry you back toward the launch.

Tours typically last around 2 to 2.5 hours and include your clear kayak, paddle, safety equipment, and a local guide. It’s a great adventure for couples, families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to experience a side of Florida that feels completely removed from the theme parks and cities nearby.
